Project Title: Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative (DigiUni)

The goal of the project is to influence the chaotic processes of digital transformation in education in order to create a single digital educational ecosystem of Ukraine, which will provide continuous, high-quality, inclusive and transparent education, regardless of the location of participants, using existing digital innovations in the educational field and a clear paradigm of adding future innovations.
Project objectives:
- To develop a concept, strategy, and an action plan for creating a unified digital educational ecosystem in Ukraine and submit it for the state approval;
- To create an all-Ukrainian digital educational environment – DigiPlatform;
- To develop the DigiUni Open Charter;
- To develop rules for ensuring and improving the quality of digital content and digital educational programs in Ukrainian higher education institutions, methods for assessing the quality of digital content, and methodology and guidelines for creating digital content and digital disciplines;
- To establish a DigiCenter in each Ukrainian partner university with a set of necessary software and equipment;
- To develop the primary content of the DigiPlatform;
- To develop 100+ new digital academic disciplines in various fields of knowledge;
- To train 600 educators as digital content developers; to provide, using the DigiPlatform, new courses for 5000+ students of Ukrainian partner universities (and to start their training), and to provide training modules for 1000+ representatives of other target groups, training them as part of the DigiUni pilot project.
Target groups: displaced Ukrainian and foreign students of Ukrainian higher education institutions, regardless of their location, in Ukraine or abroad, as well as teachers and staff of Ukrainian higher education institutions; veterans; temporarily displaced persons; persons affected by military operations in Ukraine; persons with disabilities; persons interested in professional and personal development, obtaining micro-qualifications through a flexible learning path; students of general secondary and vocational education.
Innovations:
- Launching and documenting a unified digital educational ecosystem of Ukraine, with both individual participants and educational institutions being included; creating an all-Ukrainian digital educational environment – DigiPlatform, which provides and integrates digital content creation capacities and existing content of a group of Ukrainian higher education institutions, and in the future, the majority of Ukrainian higher education institutions.
- The all-Ukrainian educational digital space, which is initially filled and provides further opportunities for placing virtual and remote laboratories, materials for virtual and augmented reality, educational games, mutual verification, and has self-developing artificial intelligence.
- Unique educational digital content that includes some or all of the above components of innovative teaching methods.
- Training courses created by representatives of several higher education institutions jointly and recognized by the majority of higher education institutions that have joined the Open Charter – DigiUni-Ukraine.
- The creation and signing of the Open DigiUni Charter by the partner universities as the first step towards uniting Ukrainian universities into powerful alliances and developing regional university centers and modernizing the network of higher education institutions in Ukraine.
- Introduction of procedures for the recognition of qualifications and micro-qualifications, learning outcomes (ECTS credits) acquired through digital educational programs and their components, and virtual mobility in the educational space of Ukraine.
- Development and application of micro-learning methodology with micro-qualifications acquired in the formal educational process.
- Use and recognition of learning outcomes acquired through digital training courses from EU universities that are posted on the DigiPlatform (or the platform contains links) without any agreements with these universities.
- General rules for ensuring and improving the quality of digital content and digital educational programs in Ukrainian higher education institutions and methods for assessing their quality.
- A model for implementing digital/virtual mobility between Ukrainian universities
